Mileage Pin Privacy Policy

Mileage Pin is made by Davey Enterprises Ltd. It records drives to and from the work places you pin, so you can keep a business mileage log. This policy explains what the app uses, where it is kept, and what leaves your phone.
What the app uses
- Your precise location, including when the app is closed. Between drives it uses the phone's low-power location signals. During a drive it records GPS every few seconds to measure the miles you actually drive.
- On Android, motion (physical activity) detection, to tell when you get into or out of a vehicle.
- What you enter or create in the app: places you pin and their names, your trips, notes, and settings such as your mileage rate.
Why
Only to detect your drives, work out their distance, and keep your mileage log. We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or tracking across other apps or websites. We do not sell or share it for marketing.
Where it is kept
Everything is stored on your phone. Mileage Pin has no account, no sign-in, and no server of its own. We (Davey Enterprises Ltd.) do not receive, see, or keep your location or trips.
What leaves your phone
Your trips and your GPS track never leave your phone. A few features send limited data to other services:
- Place names: the coordinates of a place are sent to your phone's built-in address lookup (Apple on iPhone, Google on Android) to show a street address or business name.
- Map: when you open the map, the map imagery for the area on screen is downloaded from Apple Maps on iPhone or Google Maps on Android. They can see which area is being viewed. Your pins, stops and trips are drawn on your phone and are not sent to them.
- App updates: the app checks Expo's update service for new versions. That check includes the app's version and platform, not your location or trips.
- Exports: when you export a CSV, it goes only where you choose to share it.
Like any internet request, these services can see your phone's IP address. Their own privacy policies apply.
How long it is kept
Until you delete it. You can exclude or remove trips, remove places, and turn off tracking in the app at any time. Deleting the app deletes all of its data from your phone. Because we hold no copy, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
Your choices
You can turn off background tracking in the app's Settings, or change location and motion permissions in your phone's settings at any time. Mileage Pin needs "Always" location to record drives while it is closed.
Children
Mileage Pin is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date, and note the change in the app's release notes.
